   Situated in a great location with 1,5hr to Florence, 2hr to Milan and less than 30min to Cinque Terre it proved to be a great base for our excursions. With the GPS it was easy to find La Costa just outside the village of Ponzano Superiore in the town/commune of Santo Stefano Di Magra. Upon arrival we were impressed - with a view of the entire valley on a secluded spot you're housed in a grand villa, that comes with a really nice pool. The family Giannoni took great care of us and the other italian couple who were there at the same time and we really enjoyed it. They kindly arranged for us to see the Inter - Milan game at the local bar - what a memory - full with Milanista!! Do not forget to eat the La Volpara, a little trattoria 2km past Ponzano S where a couple - Roberto and Anna provides great service, great food with the best view in the region...all at really low prices (to a Swede anyway).

   It i a very nice location in the summertime,when it gets colder it will be a bit far from everything

   The breakfast was a little poor
   It is a pity that they do not use local and fresh products
   Italy has so many good food

   Very nice house not far away from La Spezia. Located on a hill with a nice view on the bay. La Spezia is about 10km away and a train station just 10min. by car. Couldnt use the pool, as it was too cold, but everything looked nice. very private house.

   Only one Lady spoke english which welcomed us and explained everything. An old lady serves breakfast and she only speaks italian so this is a problem if you dont know any. Hard to talk to them, especially if you have a wish. Nice breakfast though.

   We loved La Costa - beautiful hilltop setting with views over the village and nearby coastline, wonderful garden and swimming pool, extremely friendly, attentive hosts, and lovely bedrooms with period furniture and comfortable beds. It was tranquil and also a good base for exploring the Cinque Terre - La Spezia is about 10-15 mins by car and and Manarola a further 10-15 mins.

   The website is short on details of how to get to La Costa - we downloaded our own Michelin guide and this was indispensable as the route there and the actual dwelling is not well signposted! An online map would be a useful addition to the website.

   We had a wonderful stay...the owners were very nice...the breakfast was delicious...

   ...a little confusing to get to...a bit of a drive...
   but worth it..

   It was a lovely spot and most of the time we had the pool and garden for ourthelves.

   They should put up a sign, so it will be easy to find.

   A lovely house, with a warm and welcome staff/Household. A beautiful countryside, and a lovely garden to relax in. The local trattoria, la volpara, is a magnificent restaurant with a lovely view and the best pasta....

   Beautiful property, high on a hill with beautiful views. Very accomodating people. We loved our stay, it was like staying at Grandma's house. The house was beautiful, like a small villa.

   From the description, we thought every bedroom had its own bathroom, in fact only one out of our 3 bedrooms had a private bathroom.

   Generally, this was one of the best accommodations - the hosts are generous and hospitable. The site is lovely, and the house is exceptional. We enjoyed the night we stayed there as the hosts were very friendly.

   The location, is, unfortunately, too far removed from Cinque Terre for easy access. It was difficult locating the B&B, as there may be prohibitions from posting signs,,,we asked several people for help in finding it. We had an urgency to return to France, so we did not stay long, unfortunately.

   From the pictures we knew that it would be a great accommodation, but when we arrived we were even more pleasantly surprised by the beautiful environment, location and Italian villa with surroundig gardens. We will surely visit B&B La Costa again. Thanks to the very kind family that welcomed us with great hospitability! The Cinque Terre area is a dream!!!
